Spring Cleaning! And… Shopping?

Happy Fun Friday! Happy spring cleaning!

Those things don’t really go together, right? I mean, sometimes cleaning can be pretty blah. Stains, dirt, grime, dust, slime… whatever it may be, it just doesn’t seem to be all that fun to get to the bottom of that cleaning to-do list.

However… who is going to say no to some spring shopping on a Friday? Could you use a little shopping break? Well, now that we’ve got your attention… you can totally use spring cleaning as an excuse to shop!

The kind of spring cleaning we are thinking of is the kind that involves your pantry. Things eventually go bad and you need to restock and replenish. This includes your seasonings and spices! Depending upon the seasoning or spice, you’ll need to change them out sometime between 1-3 years, so make sure to check those labels (All of our products come with easy-to-identify labels with best-to-use-by dates!).

Now, the question is… what do you put back in to your pantry? Here are some ideas:

The Classics

Classic Seasonings- Blog Image 3.11.16

These seasonings can go on just about everything. As my father once joked about the Original Blend, “This seasoning is so good, it will taste great on ice cream, too!” Whether you’re cooking beef, chicken, fish, pasta, or any homemade, healthy dish, you can’t go wrong with the Original Blend, Lemon Pepper Blend, Italian Blend or the Soul Food Blend. They’re all made with organic sea salt and contain spices you’d use in everyday dishes! They aren’t too spicy, so that all palettes can eat them comfortably and add so much flavor to any delicious dish.

The Bold Ones

Fun Seasonings- Blog 3.11.16

When you’re looking to make something spicy, you’ve got to look for seasonings with bold flavor! Whether you’re taking inspiration from the island of Jamaica or the flavors of South America, you know you’re getting something amazingly flavorful. Our recommendations for bold flavor are our Lemon Fire Blend, Jerk Blend, Spicy Blend and Adobo Blend!

March’s Seasoning of the Month: The Spicy Blend

Spicy-Seasoning-Blend-Blog-ImageIt’s time to heat up the competition. Our previous months have shown us the gentle and multifaceted, Mild Blend and the sweet and homey flavor of the Soul Food Blend, but now it’s time for something that really sizzles; our Spicy Blend!

Stemming from our Original Blend, this flavorful concoction came from a need for something with a little extra kick. We refer to our little extra kick as a “wallop” of cayenne pepper!

It’s exciting, delicious and full of heat. Don’t let that fool you into thinking that the flavor gets masked, though. Oh no. It’s still got all of the amazing qualities and ingredients of our very special Original Blend. It’s just got a little something extra.

This blend is perfect for fish, chicken, beef… really, anything goes. If you like it by itself, by all means, feel free to eat it that way. Just be careful of the heat.

Happy March!

Demo at the Johns Creek, GA Whole Foods

Hi All!
IMG_0281It’s Courtney and I was at the Johns Creek Whole Foods this Sunday and really enjoyed meeting all of you who stopped by; thanks for tasting our seasonings! If you’ve ever demoed anything before, you know that sometimes it can be pretty lonely, so seeing you all made a world of difference. It also helps that you enjoyed the food we prepared so much that you got a Whole Foods employee who had just began working there to try it out after complimenting it so well; what a way to make my day. :)

It seems that out of all of our blends, the Spicy Blend was the most popular. I was pretty surprised to see all of the kids pick up the spicy chicken samples and enjoy them so much.  The parents seemed even more surprised. One parent mentioned
that their child rarely eats chicken. Apparently, the little one asked if they could have chicken with our seasoning on it for dinner!

What a great success of a IMG_0280demo day. We love you Johns Creek and can’t get enough of your awesomeness. We hope you feel the same way about our seasonings and hope to be demoing there again soon.

Happy Days,
Courtney
